Alberta Wheat Commission Names New Directors for 2014 Board
AWC declares new Directors and Regional Representatives elected by acclamation.
(Calgary, Alberta) – The Alberta Wheat Commission’s (AWC) call for nominations for Regional Directors is now closed. The following Directors will be declared elected by acclamation at their respective Regional Meetings later this month:
Director - Lynn Jacobson
Director - Gary Stanford
Regional Representative – Scott Lehr
Director - Warren Sekulic
Director - Henry Vos
Regional Representative – David Bartlett
The Commission will also be calling for nominations from the floor for up to two (2) Regional Representatives at each of the following Regional Meetings:

Rycroft Community Hall
Lethbridge, November 26
Directors and Regional Representatives represent growers in their regions and must be a member of the AWC and grow wheat in the region they represent. The standard term of office for Directors and Regional Representatives is three years. Directors and Regional Representatives may serve a maximum of two, three-year terms.
The AWC Board has the opportunity to provide strategic direction to address industry opportunities and challenges, and improve the demand, agronomic competitiveness, and profitability of Alberta-produced wheat.
The new Directors and Regional Representatives terms will take affect at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at 11:30 AM as part of the FarmTech conference.
