Research funders call on federal government to ensure technicians and scientists can continue to work safely
Research funding organizations have reached out to public research institutions to request contingency plans, and discuss any potential required adjustments in contract terms and conditions by April 15, 2020. Major decisions need to be made by, or around, this date to preserve the 2020 field research season.
As funders of research, the Alberta Wheat and Barley Commissions will work with research and funding partners to ensure minimal impact on research progress while preserving the health and safety of our research community and the public. Ongoing agronomic and genetic research is required to achieve national food security and to maintain Canada’s competitiveness in the global market.
