Evaluation of Emission Reductions and Cost Savings in Sectional Control Air Seeders, Drills and Sowing Equipment across the Canadian Prairies

Increasing profits on farm mean being more efficient with input resources. One of the largest yearly input costs to producers in western Canada is fertilizer and seed. One potential avenue to increase application efficiency of nutrients and seed is through sectional control technologies. There are currently numerous sectional control technologies marketed to farmers. The technologies range in capacity from a few sections of a seeder up to individual openers. Through the support of CAP funding, the Alberta Pulse Growers is issuing a Request For Proposal to acquire services required to complete the evaluation of emission reduction and cost savings in sectional control air seeders, drills and sowing equipment in the Canadian prairies.
