AWC’s revenue is generated by a mandatory/refundable service charge (check-off or levy) of $0.70/tonne on commercial wheat sales in Alberta. The estimated $3.5 million annual revenue raised through the service charge funds innovative research, market development activities, policy and government relations initiatives, and communications, grower relations and extension initiatives.
Wheat producers who have remitted a check-off to AWC in their name may apply for a refund.
Refund applications must be received at the AWC office at the address below on or before the last day of February for the previous August 1 to January 31 period and the last day of August for the previous February 1 to July 31 period. Any service charge refund is payable within 90 days of the conclusion of each of these two periods.
